Bec Driver – AWARE ARC team

Bec Driver

What is your role?

I am the Community Engagement and Training Officer (CETO) for Lucy’s Project in the Shoalhaven region for the AWARE ARC Project and also work as a Domestic Family Violence Specialist Worker for the Women’s Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service.

Why did you decide to work on the AWARE ARC project?

As a Domestic Family Violence Specialist worker, I am very aware of the link between domestic and family violence and animal abuse and the role animals play in maintaining connection, mental and emotional wellbeing. I felt that the AWARE ARC project was a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness and initiate positive change in a space that resonates so personally with me.

What do you hope to achieve in your local community?

I hope to achieve greater community awareness, appropriate human and animal victim referral pathways, animal inclusive services/practices and positive change.
