The National Roadmap for Change to Prevent and End Family Violence against People and Animals sets out 33 recommendations for systems change to improve the safety, wellbeing and recovery of people and animals experiencing domestic and family violence across Australia.
The National Roadmap is informed by findings from the National Roundtable convened by Lucy’s Project in 2025. The Roundtable brought together over 100 participants including people with lived experience, practitioners, advocates, researchers and policy makers.
Many of the Roundtable recommendations align to initiatives that have been implemented in Aotearoa New Zealand and the USA. Earlier this year, Lucy’s Project’s CEO undertook a Churchill Fellowship to learn more about these initiatives and the fellowship findings also informed the National Roadmap.
Lucy’s Project launched the National Roadmap on 19 August 2026 at Australian Parliament House and on 24 September 2026 at NSW Parliament House.
